Abstract

This research used four pieces of good quality merino descendent sheep skin and four pieces of good quality local sheep of glace leather produced from merino descendent sheep skin to that one from local sheep skin. Either merino descendent sheep skins or the local ones were processed into glase leather through the ordinary tanning method. Glace leather output from this research were visual investigated and physical tested. Statistical analysys points out that there is unsignify difference (P ≼ 0,05) the influence of the species either it is merino and the stretch of glaze leather. It is also unsignify difference (P ≼ 0,05) the influence of the species either it is merino descendent sheep skin or the local one to the quality of glaze leather.Pratical meaning of this research is that merino descendent sheep skin may be tanned into glaze leather having same quality to that one from local sheep skins.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to detect whether there is any influence on the physical quality of the PVC compound (hardness and impact resistant). Which CaCO3, kaolin and mixture of CaCO3 and kaolin as filler is added into the batch. The more the filler added into the batch, the higher the hardness will be. The highest figure of the test result can be presented as follow : with the addition of 135 phr CaCO3 as filler the hardness is 71,2 shore D, addition 135 phr CaCO3 as filler the hardness is 74,0 shore D, while with the addition of 55 phr CaCO3 and 80 phr kaolin, the hardness is 77,0 shore D.The more the CaCO3 filler added into the bath, the higher the impact resistance will be, whereas the more the kaolin as filler added the lower the impact resistance will be. By the addition 135 phr of CaCO3, the highest figure of the impact resistance is 4,34 kg cm/cm and by the addition of kaolin the highest figure is 1,99 kg cm/cm with 75 phr kaolin. While by the addition of the mixture of 40 phr CaCO3 and 50 phr kaolin as filler, the highest figure is achieved at 2,98a kg cm/cm, and after that it will be decreasede.

Abstract

The objectivea of this study is to determine right amount of DOP content in PVC Sole Compound made from the mixture of non reclaimed PVC material and reclaimed PVC materials, in order to increase its tensile strenght, tensile stretch and elongation at break. With basic formula which contains non reclaimed PVC materials 60 phr *), reclaimed PVC materials 40 phr, epoxy 6 phr, BaCdZn 2 phr, CaCO3 10 phr, Carbon black 0,05 phr and DOP 60 phr, it can be found that the sole compound meets the SII 1103-84 “Sol Lentur cetak PVC”. The physical properties of the sole compound as tensile strength, tensile stretch and elongation at break should be ancreased anyway, because the result showed that the figures close to the minium standard.A study on preparation of sole compound mode with DOP content of 60 phr, 50 phr and 40 phr hqd been conducted. In order ti increase the physical properties of the sole compound such as tensile strength, tensile stretch ang elongation at break. After being vulcanizead, the sole then were tested in accordance with SII 1103-84 “ Sol lentur cetak PVC”.There is no significant difference in the physical properties between the addition of 60 phr DOP and 50 phr and 40 phr DOP, while the addition of 50 phr and 40 phr DOP does not significantly affect the best. An addition of 50 phr and 40 phr of DOP contet can increase the physical properties such as tensile strength, tensile stretch, elongation at break, permanent set, abrasion resistance and tear strength. The right amount of DOP wich can be added to PVC compound for sole using the mentined above is 40 phr.

Abstract

Reprocessed of wastevulcanized rubber products, known as reclaim rubber, is used as a filler in rubber soles. Uncorrect usage of reclaim rubber in rubber sole manufacturing can decrease the product performance such as as tensile streangth, elongation break and abrasion resistance.       In this experiment, by comparison of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 parts of reclaim rubber to the 100 part of natural rubber (RSS) sow that tensile strength decreased to 174.138, 160.118, 140.574, 134.092, and 449,60, 437.20, 426.00, 403.80 and 396.60% nrespectively, whereas abrasion resistance decreased to 0,2491, 0,4781, 0,5267, 0.7909, and mm3 / kgm respectively.
